MIKE’S BLOG

Welcome to the 575magazine. com breaking news blog.

The purpose of the blog is to allow us to post breaking news as soon as we receive it. All the articles, videos and audio files you see here also will go up on our main Website, but posting them here first gives our readers access ti them as soon as they are ready, while taking the pressure off our Webmaster to get things up right away.

The goal of 575magazine.com is to cover the news throughout the 575 area code, which includes southern, eastern and north-central New Mexico, through written articles, photos, videos and audio files from participating radio stations. We won’t be able to cover everything going on, but we will supplement other media outlets and even partner with them where possible to provide important news.

We’re based in Roswell, so to start with much of our news will be Roswell-based. But we already have made arrangements with radio stations in Ruidoso and Alamogordo to provide us with local news . In particular, since there is no longer any local news broadcasts from anywhere in the state except Albuquerque, we hope to fill a void there.

Let us introduce ourselves. I am Mike Bush, former editor of the Roswell Daily Record and currently working under contract with The Triton Group public relations firm. I am the editor of 575magazine.com, and also pastor of Trinidad Community Baptist Church in Roswell. (Look for photos of Iaian to replace my mug at the top of this column.)

Other partners:

• Jack Swickard is our publisher. Jack is president of The Triton Group and former editor and general manager of the Daily Record.

• Sunny Aris of Ruidoso is our advertising sales director and also coordinates our video and audio offerings.

• Jules Swickard, of Provo, Utah, Jack’s twin brother, is our Webmaster and does much of our graphics work.

• Jennifer Foster, my daughter (and mother of my first grandsosn, Ian Michael Foster) also does graphic arts, specializing in producing advertisements.

  1. Doyle Howerton, of Howerton & Meyers accounting firm in Roswell, is our accountant.
