The Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces has recently confirmed the purchase of the San Patricio Retreat Center.
The facility previously belonged to the Benedictine Order. During the Benedictine’s tenure of ownership, the Retreat Center was renovated and frequently was used by a wide variety of groups coming from throughout southern New Mexico.
The new administration plans on marketing the facility even more widely to organizations, groups, and individuals not only in New Mexico but throughout the continental United States for a broad variety of events – not just restricted to retreats, per se.
The San Patricio Retreat Center is located just off U.S. Hwy. 70 at mile marker 281 in close proximity to the Peter Hurd Gallery and consists of several acres of tranquil, wooded terrain conducive to individual meditation or group activities, including open-air ceremonies, such as weddings, receptions, etc. Although the Center is still being reorganized prior to its formal opening under diocesan management, its inauguration of services will occur in the near future.
People or organizations interested in additional details concerning the facility for future bookings should contact Mr. Richard Petrillo or Dr. Wayne Pribble at the Diocesan Pastoral Center in Las Cruces, NM, Tel. 575-523-7577.
